HKETA Youth Sub-com Launched the First Youth Forum

The Youth team of HKETA organized the first Youth Forum (Networking Practicum in Small Talks Circles) on 19th August 2016, 6:30-9:00 pm in Hong Kong Productive Council.  The theme of this forum was “Career Opportunity for Tech Marketing in Hong Kong”.  This Youth Forum was one of our Youth Sub-committee’s major activities in a quarterly basis.  It was designed for UG/PG students and young alumni in local Universities for gathering and networking fellowship in our Youth platform.
 

In this forum, Peter Lam, Managing Director of Engineering of HKT was invited as our guest speaker to present the ICT/IOT market in Hong Kong and address the market opportunity for young professional.  Participants could face to face, interacted with our speaker sharing on current the rapid change on network and information technology perspective, the challenge & opportunity of engineering & management field in the market, and advice on future career development for the young people.


Around 50 participants including guests and young students of UG/PG from HKUST and PolyU with different faculties (such as engineering, business, IT and social science) joined our forum. We had a lot of open and insight discussions under several round of small talks in our sharing sessions.  Students are also participated very active and with proactive attitude to voice out their concerns, expectation and expect to make contribution to the society in their future.  


At the end of the forum, there was a panel discussion with a group of professionals from Universities, Youth members of HKETA, and other guests from industry to share with young students (from engineering and business perspectives) in the right way, how to keep abreast of latest technologies applying into the business world, and extend to personal & business assessments, how to develop the core competency in the market and, more important is how to equip yourselves to be professional, make sustainable growth, and achievement on your personal fulfillment in the lifelong learning process.
